Former Chargers Safety Kiel Dies in Car Crash
Former San Diego Chargers safety Terrence Kiel was killed in a car crash Saturday, police said. He was 27.
Kiel was ejected from his 2004 Chevrolet sedan when it crashed into a wall in the Scripps Ranch neighborhood around 10:15 p.m., police said.
Kiel, who had just left a party, was barely breathing when emergency medical personnel arrived. He was pronounced dead at 11:28 p.m., police said.
A 2003 second-round draft selection, Kiel started appeared in 59 games over portions of four seasons with the Chargers.
He was released by the team in February 2007, when he pleaded guilty to felony and misdemeanor drug charges. |
